| Breaking News |  | Boston Sends Pedroia to Detroit Monday, June 15th, 2015: The Boston Red Sox have finalized a deal that will send 31-year-old second baseman Dustin Pedroia and 21-year-old minor league reliever Francisco Flores to Detroit for 31-year-old starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, 22-year-old minor league second baseman Ben Tate and 18-year-old minor league reliever Gregg DeBeaumont. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon.
Pedroia is currently hitting at a .286 pace with 4 home runs and 24 RBIs.
For the year Jimenez has a 4-6 record with a 5.50 ERA in 14 starts. |  | Jay and Flynn Traded Monday, June 15th, 2015: It won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox finalized a trade today. Seattle will send 30-year-old left fielder Jon Jay and 18-year-old minor league starting pitcher Mike Jenkins to the Red Sox, while the Mariners will receive 23-year-old minor league left fielder Steve Flynn and 19-year-old minor league starting pitcher Pancho Ortega. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," said the Mariners general manager). The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players to join their new ball clubs by the end of the day.
On the season, Jay is batting .245 with 5 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has played in 63 games.
|  | Pittsburgh Ships Halladay to Boston Monday, June 15th, 2015: The Pittsburgh Pirates have finalized a deal with the Boston Red Sox for the services of 29-year-old starting pitcher Joba Chamberlain, 26-year-old closer Jacob Young and 20-year-old minor league starting pitcher Dennis Hendrickson. In exchange, the Red Sox will receive 38-year-old starting pitcher Roy Halladay, 29-year-old closer Daniel Bard and 20-year-old minor league starting pitcher Eisse van Meel.
This year Halladay has fashioned a 4-7 mark, 4.84 ERA and pitched 83.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .286 against him and he has logged 42 strikeouts.
